Measuring the Rule of Law:
The University of Texas School of Law and the USC-Caltech Center on the Study of Law and Politics are cosponsoring a conference, “Measuring the Rule of Law, to be held at the Law School’s Eidman Courtroom on Friday, March 26, and Saturday, March 27.
The conference will bring together a group of social scientists and legal scholars to discuss various elements of the rule of law. This meeting builds upon a conference held last spring at the University of Southern California, “Defining the Rule of Law,” which explored how best to define the rule of law, a much discussed but inadequately understood concept. “Measuring the Rule of Law” will build upon that conversation and other seminal discussions of the rule of law in legal and political science literature in an effort to better understand the rule of law as it is considered and applied in domestic and non-domestic settings.
