Ahmed Abdelgawad Magdy Mohamed is an Egyptian lecturer and researcher as well as a 2020-2021 Fulbright student pursuing an LL.M. in Comparative Constitutional Law at Texas Law. Mr. Abdelgawad Mohamed completed his first law degree, with special emphasis on jurisprudence and civil law, at Al-Azhar University in 2012. He also holds a Master of Philosophy in Legislation from the Faculty of Law at Alexandria University. Mr. Abdelgaward Mohamed is currently a Lecturer of Islamic and Comparative Legal Studies in the Faculty of Law at The British University in Egypt. He also serves on the research advisory committee of numerous academic trusts in Kuwait and Beirut. He is the former Director of Research & Development at the Arab Network for Research & Publishing in Beirut and the former Assistant Director of the Research Center for Law & Emerging Technology in the Faculty of Law at The British University in Egypt. He has co-edited two books on democracy and the military in Africa and constitutional reform in Morocco and published articles on law and religion, comparative law, and Islamic political theory. Mr. Abdelgawad Mohamed’s current research focuses on the role of religion in the Egyptian Supreme Constitutional Court and the many ethical implications of emerging technologies. As part of his LL.M. degree program, Mr. Abdelgawad Mohamed will focus on the jurisprudence of emergency; law and religion; comparative jurisprudence; and law, the U.S. Supreme Court, and religion.
