Anna Mauro is the Institute for Transnational Law's 2018-2019 MD Anderson Foreign Judge Fellow. Mauro will pursue an LL.M. in U.S. Law for Foreign Lawyers at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Mauro is a judge in the local court of Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. She started her career as a judge in 2014. Two years later, she received a lifetime appointment. Currently, she oversees a panel of one professional judge and two lay judges. The panel presides over cases dealing with fiscal offenses and minor criminal cases. Mauro also teaches civil law at the training center for marshals in Monschau and supervises legal interns in the local court of Aachen each fall.
