Miguel Hernández Romo Valencia is a trilingual litigation attorney focusing his practice on complex litigation in civil, commercial, professional responsibility, family litigation, medical malpractice and insurance sectors. He also specializes in International arbitration and bankruptcy proceedings as well. Miguel serves as the Mexico City Office Chair for the firm’s Litigation Department.
With a deep understanding of a wide variety of complex litigation issues, some of Miguel’s most recent matters include clients with private, non-profit and publicly-held companies in the medical, oil and gas, aerospace, insurance, manufacturing and financial sectors.
Miguel was named Leading Individual in litigation by Chambers and Partners in Latin America and in dispute resolution by Chambers and Partners Global.
He is a professor of both Introduction to Mexican law and procedural law at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. He is an avid author of articles related to Mexican procedural law. Some of his articles include several publications regarding the Mexican Procedural System as well as an insurance article in the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico Law Journal of Private Law. He has also co-authored the Mexican Chapter for Arbitration and Domestic Litigation in the Practical Law Company publication of Cross-border Handbooks.
Miguel holds a J.D. from the Escuela Libre de Derecho (1992), with distinction, and an LL.M. from The University of Texas School of Law (1994).
