Distinguished LL.M. Alums Give Distinguished Lecture on International Business Law & Arbitration

On October 30, Roberto Aguirre Luzi (LL.M. ’03) and Humberto Padilla Gonzalez (LL.M. ’06) gave a distinguished lecture on the the intersection of international business law and international arbitration. The discussion was moderated by Professor Patricia Hansen, the J. Waddy Bullion Professor at Texas Law.

Mr. Gonzalez Padilla is a partner in Morgan Lewis’s Houston office. He spoke about his work representing clients in a broad range of cross-border matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, international commercial finance transactions, and contractual and simple operational matters throughout Latin America.

Mr. Aguirre Luzi is a partner in King & Spalding’s Houston office. He specializes in counseling multinational corporations on complex arbitration. Building on Mr. Gonzalez Padilla’s presentation, Mr. Aguirre Luzi then spoke about his experience representing clients in complex arbitrations before the World Bank Group’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes and UN Commission on International Trade, as well as in the arbitration under the International Centre for Dispute resolution and International Chamber of Commerce rules.
