Juan Alcalá (J.D. ’99) Leads Interviewing Skills Workshop for International LL.M. Students

On October 23, 2018, Juan Alcalá (J.D. ’99), a partner in Holland & Knight’s Austin office, led an Interviewing Skills Workshop for international LL.M. students at The University of Texas School of Law. The workshop focused on the dos and don’ts of interviewing, with special emphasis on mistakes Mr. Alcalá has seen in interviews, tips for interviewing success, and other advice. This workshop is part of the 2018-2019 LL.M. Career Workshop Series.

Mr. Alcala is a trial attorney who focuses primarily in the areas of international litigation and arbitration with a particular emphasis on disputes involving Latin America. These include matters pending in international tribunals, foreign courts and U.S. courts. He also has extensive U.S. trial and appellate experience, having tried multiple cases to verdict and settlement and appearing as strategic appellate counsel in several dozen high-exposure cases.

Mr. Alcalá serves on the Advisory Council of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center for Energy, Law, and Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
