Akhil Kompella

Akhil Kompella is a junior at the University of Texas studying Supply Chain Management in the McCombs School of Business with a minor in Government. He previously interned with the U.S. House of Representatives and Raytheon, where he worked on government contracts and supported constituents and customers. Passionate about protecting First Amendment freedoms, particularly freedom of the press and freedom of speech, he studies the intersection of news media and politics. He believes college students should use their voices to engage in civic life and develop a strong sense of civic responsibility, and he looks forward to advancing those goals through the Bowden Student Fellows program while learning from and contributing to its community.
