Tara Smith is a professor in the Department of Philosophy. Her main interests concern the nature of values, virtues, and the requirements of objective law. Her current research focuses on psychological dimensions of egoistic morality. Stemming from an interest in intellectual freedom, Professor Smith also organizes various activities for students and scholars concerning freedom of speech and the First Amendment, more broadly.
