Wanling Su

Wanling Su is an Assistant Professor at Indiana University. Professor Su is known for her work on the First and Seventh Amendments, and for tracing how Reconstruction constitutionalism reshaped their scope.

Her scholarship has appeared in, or is forthcoming in, the Michigan Law Review, North Carolina Law Review, Stanford Technology Law Review, Virginia Law Review, and Yale Law Journal. Her work has been recognized by Jotwell, and her writing for general audiences has appeared in TIME. In 2025, she received the IU Outstanding Faculty Mentor Award. The NYU Civil Jury Project has covered her research, and Professor Su has been cited in casebooks, legal treatises, as well as by parties and amici curiae before the United States Supreme Court. Her archival research on Founding-era juries is before the Supreme Court this Term in Kian v. Florida, where Sidley Austin represents her as amicus curiae.

She received her JD from Yale Law School and the Poe/Faulkner Fellowship from the University of Virginia.
