Briana Gordley
“My motivation to go to law school is grounded in my commitment to justice, economic equity, and systemic reform. Being a social worker and policy advocate has informed my belief that the law is one of the most powerful tools we have to create meaningful change for people whose lives have been shaped by violence, poverty, and systemic injustice. I want to go to law school to more effectively use the law as a tool to build lasting pathways for people to achieve safety, stability, and financial wellbeing. Becoming a lawyer is the next step in my lifelong commitment to service and social justice, and one that will allow me to walk alongside those most impacted by injustice as a trusted and effective legal advocate.”
Briana Gordley earned a BA in Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 2019 and an MSSW from UT Austin in 2021, with a concentration in policy and administration. Prior to law school, she served as a senior policy analyst at Texas Appleseed, leading efforts to protect low-income Texans from coerced debt and predatory financial practices. She plans to use her legal education to continue advancing economic justice and consumer protection.
