Heaven Baylor
“My experience living with and overcoming a congenital disability was the catalyst for my decision to attend law school. I've spent several years considering how to use my talents and experiences to serve my community. My time in social work has taught me many useful and transferable skills, but tangible change for disabled individuals often comes in the form of legal advocacy. I hope to combine a top-notch legal education with my previous skills and experiences to uphold the legal rights of disabled individuals and to continue advocating for our inherent dignity and worth. Texas Law's collegiate environment and range of opportunities will allow me to hone my skills and sharpen my commitment to public service.”
Heaven Baylor earned her BSW from Baylor University in 2023 and her MSW from the University of Houston in 2024. Prior to law school, she worked as a licensed medical social worker serving low-income and medically underserved populations, including individuals with HIV and survivors of intimate partner violence. Her clinical and advocacy experience informs her vision for a legal career focused on advancing disability rights through nonprofit or government service.
