Maria Renteria

Maria Renteria is an immigration attorney at Pangea Legal Services, a San Francisco based nonprofit organization. Previously, she was a staff attorney in the Fresno, California office of the UFW (United Farm Workers) Foundation, the largest federally accredited immigration legal service provider in the state of California.

Immediately after graduating from law school, she was a fellow with RAICES (the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) representing noncitizens in Bastrop, Hays, and Travis Counties who were in removal proceedings or who were at imminent risk of being placed in removal proceedings. Her work was supported by the Texas Law Julius Glickman Fellowship in Public Interest Law, funded by Julius Glickman ’66.

At Texas Law, Maria volunteered for pro bono projects and participated in the Immigration Clinic, Juvenile Justice Clinic, Criminal Defense Clinic, and Domestic Violence Clinic. She worked in Austin with the Equal Justice Center and Lincoln-Goldfinch Law, a law firm specializing in immigration.
