Meredith Shytles Parekh

Meredith Shytles Parekh is a supervising attorney with the Foster Care Team at Disability Rights Texas in Austin, where she has also worked in special education law. After graduating law school in 2011, Meredith received a Skadden Fellowship to support her work at Disability Rights Texas representing foster children with disabilities who were currently involved in or at risk of involvement with the juvenile justice system.

In law school, Meredith participated in the Immigration Clinic and the Children’s Rights Clinic, and was a student leader of Law Students for Reproductive Justice and a Public Service Scholar. She also volunteered for Jane’s Due Process and participated in the Student Hurricane Network trip to Biloxi, Mississippi. During her law school summers, she worked for the Texas Advocacy Project and Advocacy, Inc. in Austin.
