Roya Atashi is a staff attorney with the Texas Advocacy Project in Austin. She began her work there as a fellow focused on assisting survivors of intimate partner violence in cases involving the return of abducted children under the Hague Convention and service of process under the Hague Service Convention. Her fellowship was funded by a Mike A. Myers Fellowship in Public Interest Law, a Texas Law post-graduate fellowship administered by the Justice Center.

At Texas Law, Roya participated in Texas Law Fellowships, the Women’s Law Caucus and the Muslim Legal Society and was a staff editor of the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights. She participated in the Human Rights Clinic and the Domestic Violence Clinic, and worked for the Texas Civil Rights Project in Dallas and the Criminal Prosecutions Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas in Austin.
