Safa Peera

Safa Peera is an attorney with the King County Department of Public Defense in Seattle, Washington. At Texas Law, Safa participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic and the Human Rights Clinic; was a scholar with the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice; volunteered for the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition's Juvenile Life Timers Project; and worked as a research assistant for Professor Robert Chesney. During the summers, she interned with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in Austin, the Virginia Capital Representation Resource Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the Constitutional Law Center for Muslims in America in Richardson, Texas. She also worked with the Capital Area Private Defender Service in Austin as a third-year student.
