Savannah Kumar

Savannah Kumar is an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas, focusing primarily on criminal law, racial justice, and First Amendment issues. At Texas Law, Savannah helped found the Law and Justice Discussion Group, advocated for racial justice on campus, was a teaching assistant for Race and the Law, served as a Mithoff Pro Bono Scholar for educational equity, and was a co-organizer of GRITS, the student-led Getting Radical in the South conference. Savannah participated in the Civil Rights Clinic and the Immigration Clinic, and worked as a research fellow for the Environmental Clinic. Savannah worked for the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas in Houston, the Texas Civil Rights Project in Austin, and the Center for Court Innovation, Brooklyn Defender Services, and Bronx Defenders in New York.
