Class of 2022

Shanti Khanna works with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid in Austin providing legal representation to individuals whose parental rights have been involuntarily terminated in child protective services proceedings. Her work is supported by a 4Girls Foundation Postgraduate Fellowship in Law, a two-year fellowship. She spent the first year of her fellowship at the Austin Community Law Center.

At Texas Law, Shanti participated in a variety of pro bono projects, including the Expunction Project, the Street Law High School Outreach Project, and the INCLUDE Special Education Project. She was a student in the Children’s Rights Clinic and the Juvenile Justice Clinic. She spent her 1L summer with the Equal Justice Center and her 2L summer with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid’s Foster Youth Justice Project, both in Austin. During her third year, she served as the Scott Ozmun Fellow with Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, assisting with child custody, divorce, and domestic violence cases and helping manage legal advice clinics.
