Tom Linney is an attorney with the Animal Legal Defense Fund in Cotati, California. He is director of the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Pro Bono Program, overseeing the nation’s largest pro bono network for animal protection.

At Texas Law, Tom was instrumental in establishing Animal Law as a course and founded the Texas Law chapter of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. He was also president of the Environmental Law Society and vice-president of the Public Interest Law Association. He worked with Texas RioGrande Legal Aid’s Telephone Access to Justice Project, interned for Texas State Senator Eliot Shapleigh and the Texas Legislative Council, and was a Baron & Budd Scholar with the Texas Humane Legislation Network, researching and drafting legislation to promote the humane treatment of animals.
