2021 MD Anderson Research Fellow Announced

The Institute for Transnational Law is pleased to announce that Veronica M. Belmonte will serve as a 2021 MD Anderson Research Fellow in Transnational Law.

Veronica M. Belmonte is an Argentinian lawyer and a 2021 Fulbright student pursuing an LL.M. in Human Rights & Comparative Constitutional Law at The University of Texas School of Law (Texas Law). She completed her first law degree at the University of Buenos Aires  in 2006.

Veronica currently works at the Public Ministry of Defense, City of Buenos Aires, where she serves as a judicial clerk for the head of the Ministry. Her work focuses on administrative law and tax litigation.

Veronica was awarded a 2021 MD Anderson Research Fellowship in Transnational Law through the Institute for Transnational Law to support her legal studies at Texas Law. Her research centers on public education and the right to a basic level of education, with special emphasis on school funding litigation.

After completing her studies at Texas Law, Veronica would like to work in the U.S. before returning to Argentina. She looks forward to using everything she has learned during her time abroad to inform her teaching and research at the University of Buenos Aires.
