Institute Welcomes Visiting Researcher from University of Lucerne

Manuel Kreis is a visiting researcher at the University of Texas School of Law. He is an associate in the Banking & Finance, Employment Law and Environmental Law practice Team at MLL Meyerlustenberger Lachenal Froriep in Zurich, Switzerland. His areas of expertise include sustainable finance, advising fund management companies, representation before courts and authorities and environmental regulation. While at UT, Manuel Kreis researches on administrative law, especially on the environmental enforcement regime of the US e.g. determining Economic Benefit of Noncompliance.

After his law studies at the University of Basel (Bachelor of Law, 2012; Master of Law, 2014), Manuel Kreis worked as a Jurist at an auditing firm and at a Swiss Bank. After his admission to the Bar of Switzerland (2018), he was a research and teaching assistant at the University of Lucerne and since 2020 a doctoral student.

Manuel Kreis is a part-time judge at the Court of Appeal of the Canton of Basel-Stadt and was a member of the Citizen’s Municipal Council of Basel.
