MD Anderson Research Fellow Rafael Jerez Moreno Participates in Forum on Law and Policy in Honduras

Rafael Jerez Moreno, a 2021-2022 MD Anderson Research Fellow and Fulbright student from Honduras, was featured on a televised forum in Honduras on October 12, 2021. The forum brought together 5 panelists, including Mr. Jerez Moreno, who spoke on a decree that has been approved by the National Congress of Honduras. According to Mr. Jerez Moreno, “Last Friday, October 8, 2021, the National Congress of Honduras approved a decree that undermines political advocacy, lobbying, and other activities as well as campaign finance.” Mr. Jerez Moreno emphasized that he was honored to be included in this debate since “what happened in Congress is a revolt against democracy in Honduras.”

Rafael Jerez Moreno is a recipient of a scholarship from the Fulbright Foreign Student Program and is pursuing an LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Latin American and International Law, with special emphasis on constitutionalism, at Texas Law.
