About the Papers
Sissy Farenthold’s physical papers are held in the archive at the Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin. The collection is officially called the “Frances T. Farenthold Papers, 1913-2013” and it spans her entire lifetime of work, including her illustrious political career in the Texas state legislature, tenure as president at Wells College, and activism for human and women’s rights.
The Frances Tarlton Farenthold Papers consist of legal, political, and personal correspondence; legal, political, legislative, subject, and committee files; newsletters, reports, and bulletins; research material; newspaper clippings; maps; videocassettes and audiotapes; and photographs arranged alphabetically by subject.
