Class of 2024

Following graduation, Emani Brown will clerk for U.S. District Judge Leslie Abrams Gardner of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, in Albany, Georgia.

At Texas Law, Emani was a member of the Justice Center student advisory board and the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society, co-founder of the Gender Violence Law Caucus, alumni chair of the Chicano and Hispanic Law Students Association, a staff editor and submissions editor of the Texas Hispanic Journal of Law and Policy, and a research assistant for Professor Angela Littwin. She was a Pro Bono Scholar, helping lead the parole project, and participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic, Civil Rights Clinic, and Domestic Violence Clinic.

The summer after her 1L year, Emani worked for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid’s family law/domestic violence team in Austin. She spent the summer after her 2L year with the ACLU of Texas in Houston. As 2L and 3L, she worked during the school year as the Scott Ozmun Fellow at Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, conducting intake calls with prospective clients and placing cases with pro bono attorneys.
