Nora Gay

Nora Gay is a staff attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice at The Legal Aid Society in New York City. She represents indigent clients in the trial division in Manhattan. Previously, she was an assistant public defender at the Palm Beach County Public Defender in West Palm Beach, Florida.

At Texas Law, Nora participated in the Juvenile Justice Clinic and the Capital Punishment Clinic, and clerked for the Office of Capital Writs. She was instrumental in launching the first Change It Up!, an event to inspire and introduce incoming students to public service and social justice at the law school. She was also president of the law school’s chapter of the American Constitution Society and editor-in-chief of the Texas Journal of Women and the Law. In the summers she worked with the Washington Defender Association in Seattle and the Texas Defender Service in Austin.
