Texas Law’s Mithoff Pro Bono Program and the Texas Fair Defense Project partnered with Huston-Tillotson University to hold an expunction and driver’s license recovery clinic on the HT campus. Law student volunteers, supervised by attorneys Meg Clifford ’12 of the Mithoff Program and Karly Jo Dixon ’16 of the Texas Fair Defense Project, evaluated criminal records for eligibility to be expunged or sealed and drafted letters to courts to waive traffic ticket fees to release holds on driver’s licenses. Huston-Tillotson organizers included Pamela Reed, professors Dr. Paul Anaejionu and Dr. Lorraine Samuels, and volunteer and supporter Justice Jan Patterson, a retired judge of the Texas Third Court of Appeals.
