Cristian Sanchez

Cristian Sanchez is the managing attorney at the Texas Immigration Law Council, which is based in Austin. Previously, he was a supervising attorney at RAICES (the Refugee and Immigration Center for Education and Legal Services) in San Antonio. Immediately after graduating from law school, he worked at RAICES as an Equal Justice Works Fellow sponsored by the Texas Access to Justice Foundation. His project focused on providing legal services and advocacy to asylum seekers recently released from detention.

As a law student, Cristian lead the Law School’s Trans Name and Gender Marker Project as a Mithoff Pro Bono Scholar and was vice-president of OUTLaw. He participated in the Immigration Clinic, the Transnational Worker Rights Clinic, and the Civil Rights Clinic. He interned with the Bernardo Kohler Center and the ACLU Immigrants’ Rights Project in Los Angeles.
