Paul McDaniel

Paul McDaniel is a trial attorney with the Jefferson County Public Defender's Office in Birmingham, Alabama. He began his work there as a fellow, funded by a Texas Law Gideon’s Promise Fellowship. Texas Law participates in the Law School Partnership Program launched by Gideon’s Promise, a nonprofit that works to reform indigent defense through training and support of public defenders. Through the partnership, Gideon’s Promise helped Paul secure the position and provided three-years of intensive training.
At Texas Law, Paul participated in the Actual Innocence Clinic and the Criminal Defense Clinic, and worked for the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Western District in San Antonio. Before law school he served in the U.S.Army.
