Named Fellowships – Summer 2025

The William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law will award the named fellowships listed below in the summer of 2025.

These competitively awarded fellowships provide a stipend of $8,000 for at least ten weeks of work with a qualified sponsoring organization and special recognition. Preference will be given to students who intend to pursue careers in public service. Please review the eligibility requirements of each fellowship before submitting your application.

Applications are due by noon on Friday, March 7, 2025. Selected fellows will be announced by March 31, 2025. Applicants not selected for a named fellowship are encouraged to apply for a general Summer Public Service Program fellowship: https://law.utexas.edu/publicinterest/summer-public-service-program-2025/.

Baron & Budd Public Interest Summer Fellowships

For work with nonprofit organizations, created by a generous gift from Baron & Budd, P.C.

G. Rollie White Trust Public Interest Summer Fellowships

For work with nonprofit organizations and public defender offices, created by a generous gift from the G. Rollie White Trust.

Mack Public Service Summer Fellowship

For work with government agencies, 501(c)(3) non-profits, 501(c)(4) social welfare organizations, or legislative offices, and supported by a generous gift from Joel H. Mack.

Ramsey Clark Summer Fellowship in Public Interest Law

For work with 501(c)(3) non-profits supported by a generous gift from the family of The Honorable Ramsey Clark for Civil Rights and Human Rights.

Stuart Henry Environmental Law Fellowship

For work with a nonprofit legal organization focused on preserving Texas’ natural resources and protecting the Texans who rely on them, supported by generous gifts from admirers of Stuart Henry to honor his legacy of environmental protection.

Whitehurst Public Interest Summer Fellowships

For work with nonprofit organizations and public defender offices, supported by a generous multi-year gift from Stephanie Whitehurst and Bill Whitehurst ‘70.
