Jessica Sanchez Flores is a PhD candidate in the Spanish & Portuguese department. She migrated to the United States at the age of nine. Her personal experiences influenced her to pursue a PhD to research the linguistic, ethnic, racial and cultural representation of indigenous women in Latin America.
