Adriana Hernández Sánchez is a dual master's degree student in Public Affairs and Women’s and Gender Studies at UT Austin. She holds a bachelor's degree in Law and a bachelor's degree in International Relations. During her undergraduate studies, she was a research assistant at UANL, working on projects related to human rights, indigenous women, economic empowerment of women, femicides, and gender-based violence. As an activist and advocate for women's human rights in Mexico, she was recognized as a Youth Awardee in the category of gender equity in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, and received the Youth For Peace Fellowship from the Mexican federal government. She is currently the general secretary of the feminist collective “Iniciativa 360 Mujeres por México,” which holds meetings with the state government to propose ideas for improving policies in security, health, justice, equality, and inclusion, and to advocate for women's human rights.
