Alfonzo Robinson
Alfonzo Robinson is an experienced healthcare leader with expertise in nursing, administration, and research. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin, focusing on nurse empowerment, autonomy, and workforce challenges. Alfonzo’s research includes innovative interventions like songwriting for nurse well-being, contributing to the Digital Heart Health Project on hypertension in Hispanic populations, and studying doll therapy for dementia patients. He has led key initiatives, such as improving emergency department throughput and co-chairing the Falls Best Practice Team at a Level 1 Trauma Center. In 2023, he received the Daisy Nurse Leader Award.
Previously, Alfonzo served in the U.S. Army, holding leadership positions in medical units, and later transitioned to healthcare leadership. He has managed high-acuity units, led staff recruitment and retention efforts, and is a certified Nurse Executive. He has earned multiple military awards, including the Army Commendation Medal.
Alfonzo is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Nurses Association and the Texas Organization of Nurse Leaders. He is committed to advancing nursing practice and policy, focusing on improving working conditions, supporting nurse autonomy, and advocating for systemic healthcare reforms.
