She was born and raised in Mexico City. After finishing her BA degree in International Relations in 2012, she worked in different areas, mostly related to governmental communication. She took her writing interests more seriously when she started doing freelance work as a journalist for a number of outlets and publications in Mexico City. This motivation brought her to Austin, where she started her MA in Journalism in 2016. She approached LLILAS after this because she needed a deeper understanding of Latin America’s history, sociology and anthropology if she wanted to achieve her goals of doing investigative and solution-intended human rights journalism in such a diverse and complex region. Currently, she is in her third year of a Dual Masters Degree in Latin American Studies and Journalism.
