Andrea (she/her) is a senior studying Arts and Entertainment Technologies and Sociology. She is currently the Creative Lead for the podcast Left Unsaid created by MAIP (Multicultural Advertising Internship Program) which aims to uplift voices of marginalized communities within the advertising industry and beyond. Through her work, she is able to create interactive social media designs to promote the message of the podcast. Her participation with Texas Flores (Feminist Latinx Organization Empowering Society), an organization at UT, has led Andrea to become an active volunteer in the Austin community at Casa Marianella and Hutto Detention center. Her research interests include immigrant rights, prison abolition, and education reform, and she is passionate about expanding her learning to better help the world around her. Her digital media work serves the purpose of finding the intersectionality between technology and social change. Through motion graphics and 2D design, she hopes to use art to create social impact and spread awareness. In the future, Andrea sees her professional endeavors centering around helping vulnerable communities and doing creative work to highlight their stories and spark change
