Ashley Landin
Ashley Landin is a second-year student pursuing a double major in Government and Sociology, with a minor in Law, Justice, and Society within the Liberal Arts Honors program. With a deep passion for labor rights and women’s equality, Ashley focuses her academic and extracurricular efforts on addressing the impact of machismo on gender-based violence in Latin America and advocating for the working class. Ashley’s commitment to social justice is evident in her work as a political writer for Ribbon Magazine and her internship at Congressman Greg Casar’s district office, where she actively advocates for marginalized communities. Ashley previously spent time as a Teen Team intern for the San Antonio Express News where she conducted her research on how to proactively and efficiently help the unhoused community in downtown San Antonio, served as a volunteer coordinator for the Jennie Birkholz for Texas House campaign, and as a campaign fellow at the Watson-Eckhardt-Talarico Campaign Academy with the Travis County Democratic Party. Beyond her professional pursuits, Ashley also plays a role in her campus community as a member of the Terry Scholar Student Association and a mentor for first-year students in the Liberal Arts Honors program. Looking ahead, Ashley plans to attend law school with the goal of becoming a civil rights attorney, where she aims to continue her advocacy by working with non-profit organizations to advance social justice and equality.
