Chamila Gunamunige is a first-year Ph.D. student in the Performance as a Public Practice program in the Theatre and Dance Department at the University of Texas at Austin. They are also a Playwright, Theater Director, and University Lecturer in Sri Lanka. In 2016, they received the Fulbright Scholarship and completed their MFA in Theatre Directing at Long Island University, New York. After they earned their MFA, they worked as an Assistant Director (Internship) for New Circle Theatre Company in New York from 2018 to 2019.
