Cynthia Gorney is a contributing writer at National Geographic and The New York Times Magazine. She is also a professor in the Graduate School of Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. Previously, she served as the South American bureau chief at The Washington Post. She is the author of Articles of Faith: A History of the Abortion Wars and her articles have appeared in numerous magazines, including The New Yorker, Sports Illustrated, and the American Journalism Review. Gorney is a recipient of the American Society of Newspaper Editors feature writing award and a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
