Daniel Nourry is a Ph.D. student in Iberian and Latin American Literatures and Cultures in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese and a volunteer translator and interpreter for both theRefugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) and the UT Austin Law Clinic. His current research centers on questions regarding the role of children, notions of childhood and constructions and representations of indigeneity in religious dynamics. In particular this research explores these constructions within the practices of conversion, evangelization, colonization and canonization; a focus that seeks to bring into dynamic and productive dialogue the relationship between historical colonial practices, contemporary colonial practices and postcolonial and contemporary Indigenous efforts to rearticulate these processes.
