David Thompson

David Thompson is pursuing a Master of Public Affairs at the LBJ School of Public Affairs. He received his BA in Philosophy from the University of Oklahoma, where he was involved in grassroots organizing around fair trade and international justice issues. He has spent the last several years working as a nonprofit case manager and administrator at Casa Marianella, Caritas of Austin, and Front Steps. He has been involved in research around immigrant detention centers and has a strong interest in forced migration issues. David is currently a Data and Policy Consultant and Data GRA for Feeding Texas and the Child and Family Research Partnership, respectively, where he assists in the evaluation of state-level social programs.
