Dewi Azizah is a second-year PhD student in Communication Studies, within the area of Rhetoric, Language, and Political Communication. She studies the rhetorical intersection between religion, gender, and social justice in Southeast Asia, and her current research examines the environmental activism by Islamic organizations in Indonesia. Beyond the graduate school, she participates in various initiatives that focus on social justice and marginalized groups, including Sekolah Pemikiran Perempuan (SPP/School of Women’s Thought), an Indonesian collective that works on decolonial feminist activism. In her leisure time, she loves making pottery, bouldering, and thrifting.
