Erika Slaymaker is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology and an Urban Ethnography Lab Fellow. Her research interests include social movements and transgender politics. She studies public debates about gender and sexuality in Texas, including the campaigns surrounding the bathroom bills and the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance.
