Herbert Rocael Giron Lemus

Herbert Girón is a Guatemalan Public Defender. He is studying an LL.M with a concentration in Human Rights & Comparative Constitutional Law at The University of Texas at Austin School of Law as a Fulbright Foreign Student. His law practice has allowed him to represent people prosecuted with different criminal charges, but especially those who belong to minorities in Guatemala. This has allowed him to realize how important is access to justice in every society to allow its people wellbeing. This background has motivated him to involve into initiatives which address the protection of human rights, democracy, and citizen participation.
