Summer Fieldwork Grantees Affiliated Graduate Students

Jordan French is a PhD student in the department of Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Sustainable Systems. His work experiences and research interests are interdisciplinary in nature, with an underlying commitment to environmental justice. He obtained his BS and MS degrees in Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, where he focused his studies on hydrology, public health, and inclusive infrastructure. Before returning to graduate school, he spent several years working in government, nonprofit, and consulting organizations across the United States. Through these diverse experiences, he identified just energy transitions as his area of interest; it was this interest that motivated him to join the Rapid, Equitable, and Sustainable Energy Transitions (RESET) Lab at UT Austin for his PhD pursuits.
