Velazquez Santopietro is a researcher at the LLILAS, University of Texas (2012) and in the Department of Archaeological Heritage, Leiden University (2015). She is a Ford Foundation Scholarship holder (2011). Since 2005, she directs Iguanazul, for revitalizing mexican languages. She works with indigenous women settled in New York City.
