Kacy Middleton
Kacy Middleton is a third-year Sociology and Rhetoric and Writing double major with a minor in Government in the Liberal Arts Honors program. She is passionate about equipping her peers to believe in their possibilities on campus. Kacy serves as a mentor for the Fearless Leadership Institute (FLI), the Liberal Arts Honors program, and a First-Year Interest Group (FIG) through the School of Undergraduate Studies. This past year, Kacy served as a legislative intern for the Office of Texas State Representative Ann Johnson (HD 134), where she gained tangible experience in the public policy sector. Middleton’s academic studies and research interests are focused on housing discrimination, spatial poverty, and the gender pay gap in America. Kacy is also interested in racial and ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system and how to equip all children for a successful future. Additionally, she is focused on utilizing the legal system to progress the rights of marginalized and underrepresented communities in America. Upon graduation, Middleton plans to attend law school to continue her work as an agent for social change and justice.
