Karla Peredo

Karla Peredo is a J.D. Candidate at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, Class of 2027. She is originally from Mexico and grew up in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies and Government. Before law school, Karla completed three legislative sessions at the Texas House of Representatives and worked with civilian-led police oversight entities at the City of Austin, and the City of Oakland to bring about transparency and accountability in local policing. While in law school, Karla is especially interested in studying international (im)migration law, decolonial comparative law, and constitutional law. In her free time, Karla enjoys language learning, public parks, and all things related to indigenous dance, literature, movements, and celebration.
