Leslie Wise

Leslie Wise (B.A. 2013, The University of Texas at Austin; J.D. expected 2019) will intern this summer at American Gateways, a non-profit organization providing legal services to low-income immigrants across Central Texas. Last summer, Leslie interned with the South Texas Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project (ProBAR) in Harlingen, Texas as the sixth Charles Moyer Human Rights Fellow. Prior to law school, Leslie worked as a legal assistant at the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services. At Texas Law, she is a staff editor for the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties & Civil Rights, a member of the Public Interest Law Association, and a 2017 recipient of the Pro Bono Beacon Award.  After law school, Leslie hopes to pursue a career in immigration law.
