Prior to joining UNSW Law, Lucas was a Postgraduate Fellow at the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice, University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Lucas holds a PhD in Law from the European University Institute. He researches and writes primarily in the areas of public international law, international cultural heritage law and international human rights law.
