Nimra Farooq is a PhD student in the Comparative Literature department at UT. Her research interests include print culture and periodicals, caste, women and gender, and colonial Indian history. Her work examines emergent fascist discourses in early twentieth century Hindu and Muslim communities in India by studying Hindi and Urdu periodicals, with attention to how these were shaped by contemporaneous eugenicist, biomedical, and fascist thought in Europe.
