Summer Human Rights Fellows
Nina Colombotos (B.A. 2018, Middlebury College; J.D. expected 2024) will be interning this summer at the Workers Defense Project (WDP) in Austin, Texas. The WDP is a membership-based organization that empowers low-income immigrant workers to achieve fair employment through education, direct services, organizing and strategic partnerships. Nina will develop employment cases on behalf of WDP members as well as conduct legal and policy research to support WDP's ongoing strategic campaigns.
In her first semester at Texas Law, Nina participated in the Mithoff Pro Bono Program’s Expunction and Pro Se Asylum projects. She will join the Immigration Clinic in the fall. Nina is committed to advancing immigrants’ rights and worked in direct immigration legal services before coming to Texas Law. She was a DOJ Accredited Representative in Massachusetts, where she directly represented survivors of crime in their immigration cases. She also worked as a paralegal for a solo crimmigration attorney in southern California. Nina plans to pursue a career providing direct legal services for low-income immigrants after law school.
