Phill Melton (BA 2008, The University of Tulsa; MA 2011, The Catholic University of America; JD anticipated 2019, Texas Law) will be at the Laredo office of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) this summer. His litigation, education, and lobbying work will focus on labor and employment issues affecting the rights of farmworkers and migrant laborers. While at Texas Law, Phill has been part of the Karnes Immigrant Family Detention Winter Break project; the Trans Name and Gender Marker Project; served as a legal observer; and represented Texas Law at the Peggy Browning Worker's Rights Conference and RebLaw 2017. He will be next year's submissions editor for the Texas Journal on Civil Liberties and Civil Rights.
